Burst U2 Online Concert
Burst.com is a developer of faster-than-realtime video delivery over IP networks.
During the first half of 2000 Webfarm worked with Holosphere and Mindsphere
to develop an event web application for Burst to announce and present an online
concert by the band U2. The concert was taking place in Mexico City and broadcast
and archived via the Burst.com site.
Webfarm developed an application for Burst to manage invitations and responses
to the site. A group of industry leaders were invited via a personalized rich
email and personalized URL to visit the concert site and view the material including
interviews, and individual songs from the live concert. The rich mail content
was developed by Mindsphere and Webfarm took the graphic material and built
the application that composed a personalized web invitation for each member
of the VIP invitation list. Part of this application was a management interface
for managing the invitation list, sending invitations and watching the responses.
